“Red Ribbon” Red tablecloth, Rope, 2005.

This was an installation piece meant to focus complete attention on the boxy buildings and the lines created by the limestone blocks that dominate the Center for the Arts at Wesleyan University.  The ribbon is meant to change the scale of the environment even more such that we feel even more diminutive.  We are accustomed to feeling small next to a building, but how do we feel next to a box?  I was also interested in adding a line of color amongst a sea of grey.  I wanted to draw attention to the fact that the heights of the limestone blocks line up throughout the CFA buildings.  If I were to explore this project further I would have put red lines around each building at varying heights.
